The cinema program Weltsichten will take place again this month on Friday, February 25th, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in the ODEON cinema! Kino Weltsichten is a cinema series of the International Women's Film Festival Dortmund | Köln eV and is carried out together with the SPHS – VereintMenschen.

Arrive in a country whose language you don't speak, whose culture is alien to you and where orientation is difficult. This is where the Cinema: World Views project comes in. Film has a universal language and connects people, because where it fails, images make something immediately clear, understandable and comprehensible.

Once a month, Kino: Weltsichten presents films that show the role of women in the most diverse countries and cultures. Seeing things together and the subsequent conversation are important to us. Openness, tolerance and curiosity are the basis of these film talks, to which everyone with and without a migration background is cordially invited.

A warm hearted film about a little girl's relationship with her grandmother who suffers from dementia.

Since her mother works so much, Romy goes to her grandma's after school. She usually helps her in the hairdressing salon. But lately the 70-year-old has been somehow different, she forgets a lot, suddenly speaks Danish and keeps talking about her childhood in Denmark and the sea. Romy helps her grandmother wherever she can so that no one notices anything. Until the day when her grandmother Stine stands in the salon in her nightgown and a doctor's visit brings certainty: she has Alzheimer's disease and is placed in a nursing home. Is she really doing well there?
